My first post

Well, we have a baby!  Bobby couldn't update this blog from the iphone while we were at the hospital.  So, I am going to give the quick version to catch everyone up.  

I went into the hospital on Wed night expecting for them to soften my cervix to get ready to be induced on Thurs morning. I ended up having my own contractions that were strong enough for my doctor to call that procedure off.  She kept me at the hospital though since I had the last available room.  Bobby and I had a really fun night.  I wasn't in pain but we just watched movies and took walks. The next morning I was hooked up to Pitocin by 6:30am.  They kept upping the dose until it became pretty painful.  When I found out that almost 6 hours on Pitocin and I was only at 3cm, I ended up getting an epidural.  After I got it I wondered why I hadn't gotten it sooner.  About an 1 1/2 later I was at 10 cm.  I pushed for about 40 minutes or so and then we got beautiful Emma Grace in our arms. My labor and delivery went so smoothly.  There were zero complications (for me and for the baby).  That is a huge answer to prayer!  

 Emma is perfect!  We love her so much and still can't believe that she is here.  IV loves his little sister and is such a big helper already.  He enjoys holding her and is very gentle with her.  

She is a good baby who is very sleepy!  Check the next post below for the flickr slideshow.

Checked Ali and she is still only 2 cm dialated and 50% effaced.
Doc was able to break her water so contractions are supposed to get
more intense now.
Hahaha.... Ali just stood up to go to the potty and all the water
gushed out. For those who know me, know what color my body was shortly
after that.

alison is going well. we're just sitting/laying in the labor/delivery room here at saint mary's (room 2). ali was glad to see carly being voted off of AI.

our good friend katie (missed you matt) came by to visit for a couple of hours. she's a couple of month's pregnant.

ali sent me back out to finish downloading the itunes movie we have rented. can't find a fast (enough) wireless connection around here..

Alison went to the doctor today and she told her to come back  at 5!
